Tuesday 17th June

Today I had a lovely day at work. I popped back to my house with Eddie this morning and brought some bread on the way. Edd loves going in the shops now and loves chatting to everyone. Then we came back and Deb and Eleanor came around. We had a lovely play outside. We then had a lovely lunch (thanks to Deb). We had some cheese, bread and butter, pasta salad and some lovely plum tomatos. It was a lovely morning.

Here are some fab websites I have just discovered-

-Pink chic (http://www.pinkchic.co.uk)-this/ website sells good quality Leather handbags. They all look very well made. My favoutive one is a copy of a luella bag I like. They also do bag parties as well. A perfect party if you ask me!!!

-Steptoe and son (http://www.steptoeandson.co.uk)-%20this/ is a really good website selling all things vintage, from gorg evening bags to books and fabrics. There are alot of pieces, and its worth a look. I first discovered it when my sister brought a bag for me from their. I thought it was really cool because it was made in 1986 (the year I was born). Its a really sweet bag which I will treasure. (see picture)

-The White Verrandah (http://www.whiteverrandah.co.uk/)- This is currently my fav website. It sells a really lovely section of vintage bits. Theres a lovely selection of jewellery and gor cushions. Jessica who runs it is lovely. A hidden gem!

My (new) favoutive website

I have just discovered a great website. I saw it featured in Elle and thought Id take a look. It called whats mine is yours (http://www.whatsmineisyours.co.uk/). You put up things you no longer want and you can either swap them or sell them for a small fee. I put up a purple silk blouse I no longer wanted and swapped it for a gorg star print dress just like the chanel one. Its really flattering and fun. I think it will be nice to wear out on New years eve as its quite fun. It came yesterday and I really like it. You can lso leave feedback about the other person etc. Its a really good site, i think its such a good idea to recycle clothes instead of just chucking them out. A brilliant website, you should give it a go!!

Where are the good blokes??

I am currently single. Dont get me wrong, I like being single. And im def not desperate to find a bloke. But I am finding it impossible to meet a normal, descent bloke. Whenever I go out and make an effort the only people who look are 40 or 50 year old. All the blokes ive seen have been weird and just after one thing. What has happened to all the good blokes???

The mac is back

For some time I have been looking for a beige mac. I saw a gorgeous burberry one I wanted, but it was to expesive for my budget. I have eventually found a nice one. I found it in the sale section on ASOS. Its a lovely classic beige colour with gorg stripe lining. Now ive got it im really impressed. It is such a good fit on me. I think a desent mac is a wardobe essential. I think it will look fab with a polo top, skinnys and some flats. Timeless and classic!!

am lovin my Lipsy dress

I cannot wait 2 go out to Hoddesdon in a couple of weeks with my mates. I havent really been out 4 ages so im looking forward 2 it. I have picked a lovely Lipsy dress, which is a purple tie dye one (as seen on Danielle Lloyd). Im goin 2 team it with some gorg ASOS silver leather slingbacks and a silver next clutch bag. im looking forward 2 it!!!

I love my job

I cannot believe it September I would have been at my job for two years. I cannot believe how time flies. I am a nanny and I look after 4 brothers. I really enjoy it. I love the freedom, if its nice we can go out to the park or feed theducks or if its rainy we can stay in and make cakes. Of course I get bad days but the majority of time I love it!!

My bedroom makeover

This year Im going to give my bedroom a vintage style makeover. I am very lucky because I have a seperate dressing room and bedroom. My lilac room (my dressing room) is nearly finished. I painted in lilac and filled it with all my treasures.

I did start decorating my bedroom last year but I sort of forgot about it. I painted it blue but thats it. But i think I will paint it all cream. My favoutive thing in my bedroom is my cream dressing table. A neighbour of mine was throwing it away and said my sister could have it. After my sister left she gave it to me. When I got it, it needed some Tlc. So i cleaned it up and painted it cream. Im really pleased with it. Everyone who sees in comments on it. I will let u all know once I have finished it. Watch out Kelly H!!!

All in a ruffle!!

I brought a delightful purple coast dress last week. I do love coast I think they do really well made dresses, but normally I cannot afford them. But I spotted this one on the ASOS website. It was reduced from £125 to £55 which I thought was a good bargain. Its really well made and made of my fav fabric silk. I think I will wear it to my family meal for by birthday in November. I will wear it with black tights and black shoes.

Im loving a retro summer!!

At the moment for some sad reason im really into picnics. To me goin on a lovely picnic in the summer is an ideal first date. But I think I may be in a minority of people who think that. Recently I brought a lush picnic case from the white verrandah. Its made by Brexton, who apprently are very wel known for picnic sets. Its green polka dot and is really sweet. At the moment though I use it as storage for my vogue magazines.

Im also getting really excited about my summer bbq comin up. I will cook lots of sausages burgers and fish (i dont eat meat). And hopefully I will do some gorg roasted peppers and toms with loads of salad, and some of my famous choc brownie for pudding. I cannot wait!!! And Ive got some gorg vintage tam plates that I will serve the brownies on (another purchase from the white verrandah!!). But I cant wait, I just need to find a good outfit now!!!

My favoutive jewellery

Im not a big jewellery fan, but lately I have brought some really pretty silver vintage pieces. They look really sweet and will always be in style. I brought them from my favoutive website the white verrandah, and they are now kept in my lilac room. I haven't worn them out yet, but I think they will look really sweet with all my girly summary clothes. They are really nice pieces and I adore them. Left-A silver flower brooch, and Right a silver bell necklace.

I have just ordered two adorable cushions from one of my favoutive websites, the white verrandah. They look so adorable and I had to have them. I think they will look really nice with all my other cushions on my sofa. I now cannot wait to get them.

I also really love a linen pyjama case and a lovely bedspread, which hopefully i will get next month.

Im loving my new haircut

I have had long hair most my life. I always thought it looked more feminine and prettier. But lately I have been loving the bob look, which is coming out of the latest retro trend. I think it looks really pretty with a fringe as well. So a few weeks ago I took the plunge and chopped my hair of. At first it felt weird. But now im loving it. If i just want to pop down the shops i can just wash and go. Its just so much easier. So I think I will be sticking with the bob or a while.

My holiday to Greece

Me and my sister have decided to go on holiday next year. Im quite close to my sister and it should be really fun going on holiday with her. We are going to stay in a nice hotel in Greece. I have seen a few pictures of the resort we are staying and it looks beautiful. I really can't wait. Although its a year away i am already deciding what look I will be going after. Im loving the old retro look. I love the 6os style halterneck bikinis and the wide brimmed hats. Although that look is dated if you get it right it looks very fresh and clean. I have seen a lovely cath kidson hat which I might buy. Its a cream paper straw hat. Its really pretty and would look wonderful on holiday. Im getting sooo excited and I cannot wait!!!

My luella bag

I have tried to sell my Luella Giselle bag for some time now. I put it on ebay twice but it didn't reach the reserve. But I have decided to keep it now, its such a lovely bag and I think I will hold on to it. It means alot to me, It was the first ever designer bag I ever brought and it brings back alot of memories. It always reminds me of when I took it out when I went christmas shopping with my good friend Steph. I think she thought I was mad taking it out!!

Monday 9th June

Today I have had a great morning with the two boys I look after. We made a lovely wholemeal tomato and cheese pizza. Ryan really enjoyed helping make it and Edd loved peeling the onion skin. They are two budding chefs. Although the weather is Lush we stayed in this morning. Also a few bits came from ASOS (http://www.asos.co.uk/), which I was very excited about. Ive got a lovely purple dress from Coast which I will wear for my birthday family meal and a classic beige mac in the style of Kate Moss. It fits really really well and is such a classic. And if its good enough for Mossy its good enough for me. So all in all a good day. Enjoyed myself!!

My nice weekend

I have had a lovely weekend. On Saturday I went shopping to Hertford with my stylist Deb. I brought a lovely pink cami from New look and a few pieces from a charity shop. I also found some bubble bath I have been looking for, for some time. It is called halos and horns. The bubble bath is meant for babys but it smells devine, lovely and sweet. Im so glad I found some and brought two bottles. Its also very good for your skin and has no horrible chemicals. We then went to the Salisbury to get some lunch (Debs treat). I got some fish and chips and orange juice. They were the nicest fish and chips I have ever had. Gorgeous!! So overall a good Saturday.
Then on Sunday I popped up to the boot sale in stanstead abbotts. There wasn't alot there but I found a lovely summary blouse from Ted Baker and a pretty yellow primark day dress. But my best buy was a white cotton vintage day dress. It is fitted at the top and has a full skirt. It looks really really pretty. So overall a lovely weekend. and the weather was great as well. Roll on summer!!!!!

New look rocks

For quite some time I have gone of the clothing shop New Look. It brings back a bad memory. I think I was 15 and there was a bloke I really liked. It came to non uniform day and I wanted to impress. So I brought a top and jeans from new look. Then on non uniform day I thought I was sooo hip and happening. I walked into class acting all cool and went to sit next to him. He said 'I like your top Jodie, but it looks familar, oh my Mums got it'. From then on I avoided new look like the plague. Back then if you brought a top from new look most of the female population of Hoddesdon would be wearing the top. Not cool.
But now New look is going up on my fashion radar. Its cheap but the clothes are all well made and quality. Everything looks much fresher and grown up. So at the moment Im loving new look. If you haven't head down there now!!! or visit www.newlook.com.

My boot sale experience

I have heard alot of good stuff about boot sales lately. When I got my hair coloured last my hairdresser was telling me how she and friend went to a bootsale in Harlow. And her friend picked up a brand new karen Millen top for 50p. I couldn't believe it, so I decided to give it a go. I went up to one in Stanstead Abbotts. And I found some treasures. My star buy was a gorgeous Nicole Farhi white shirt. It fits like a glove and is such a beautiful piece. I also picked up a lovely vintage BIBA jumper. Incase you don't know Biba was around in the 70s and is now making a comeback. I could not believe it. Ok maybe hoping to find a chanel bag is wishing slightly, but if you have a good look your sure to find some great pieces. I would reccomend it to anyone!!! and will definetly go again.

LIPSY ROCKS

I am really really lovin Lipsys summer collection (www.lipsy.co.uk), it is full of lovely romantic dresses ideal for night and day. I just brought a lush silk ruffle dress to wear with some ASOS shoes. The dress is perfect for my body shape and will look good. Ive also spotted a lovely silk cream dress as well. Perfect to wear to a wedding. But if you haven't looked check out their website its fab. I would reccomend it!!

I LOVE my ASOS shoes

I am so excited with my new shoes. They are gorgeous silver leather slingbacks from ASOS (http://www.asos.co.uk/). They remind me alot of sex in the city, and I could see Carrie wearing them. But I also think they look shoes a drag queen might wear. They look fab on. Im going out with all my mates soon and I think they will look perfect with a lipsy dress I have just brought and a gorg silver accessorize clutch.

My new haircut

I am lovin my new bob haircut. I wanted it to look like Nicole Ritchies crop last year, it didn't really end up that way but I like it.
